Flexibility is key to modern manufacturing. That’s why Mitsubishi Heavy Industries - Mahajak Air Conditioners (MACO), a part of MHI Group, embraces the concept of “Yatai” to keep things agile.

Yatai is the Japanese word for food stalls, but also describes a system of mobile factory workstations. These help the company’s factory in Thailand manufacture innovative air conditioners, allowing producers to react quickly to today’s fast-changing global marketplace.

Highly flexible production schedules mean resources can be ramped up during periods of high demand, or quickly redeployed if needed elsewhere. The workstations make it easy to customize orders or manufacture several different orders simultaneously.

Watch this short video to discover the vital manufacturing flexibility that comes through embracing Yatai.
