While the world is currently off-track to meet net zero targets, experts say there is ample opportunity to accelerate progress toward decarbonization goals.

Industry, which accounts for about 25% of global energy system emissions, is seeking to do this against a backdrop of rising demand for its products. 

At the same time, there are many technologies, such as CO₂ capture and storage, that with the right support can be commercially available at scale to speed up this journey.
